5 Kg
Area Of Application:
- Production assembly areas, soft drink production, bottling plants, breweries, aquaculture units, food processing units
dairies, pharmaceutical units, etc. As a protective coating for steel & concrete structures in various industries.
- Can be used on walls / ceilings to resist chemical attack.
Method of Application
Surface Preparation
- Surface must be sound and dry, free from laitance, grease, oil and any other contamination. This must be removed
thoroughly by suitable mechanical means, such as, wire brushing or suitable abrader. New concrete floors must be
completely cured and dry. The substrate must not suffer from rising dampness more than a moisture content of 4%.
- In substrates where oil & grease has penetrated deeply, use of a flame torching to burn off the oil, shall be done.
In cases where the contamination is deep seated , mechanical means must be adopted to remove the substrate upto
the extent of penetration. Depending on the extent of removal, suitable methods for floor reinstatement of the substrate,
may be adopted.
Priming
For application of primer with Dr. Fixit Pidipoxy EP, refer to the data sheet of Dr. Fixit Pidipoxy
Mixing
- Before mixing the contents of each container should be thoroughly stirred to disperse any settlement which may have
taken place.
- Mix the entire hardener content into the base container and stir thoroughly with a slow speed mechanical stirrer
attached with a suitable paddle to get a homogeneous mix.
Application
- Apply the mixed material to the prepared / primed surface by a good quality paint brush or a good quality flat pile lambswool
roller, or with an airless spray system.
- Ensure that a continuous film is achieved.
- For vertical applications each coat of application must be applied to a maximum of 50 micron DFT. The total coats
required will depend upon the final thickness required.
- For horizontal applications, one can achieve a 200 - 250 micron DFT in one coat of application. However the maximum
thickness of coating must not exceed 500 microns DFT in two coats.
- The second coat to be applied when the first coat is tack free.
- Clean tools and tackles with solvent within the pot life period
- Can also be applied over Dr. Fixit Epoxy Floor Screed & cementitious underlays.
Precautions & Limitations
- New concrete and cementitious surfaces must be at least 28 days fully cured and dry, before taking up application of
Dr. Fixit Pidipoxy EC - SF
- Apply within temperatures ranging from 150 to 350 C
- Do not dilute with solvents
- Use mixed material within the pot life period
- Expansion joints in the existing substrate must be retained and continued through the
- Protective clothing, gloves, goggles should be worn during handling of the product.
- In case of accidental contacts in hands and eyes with the product , use soap & plenty of water for thorough cleaning and
seek immediate medical attention
- Do not smoke in the areas of application or storage
- Fire extinguishers should be available
