Areas of Application
- As a corrosion resistant coating for any concrete and metal structures
- Useful for sewage works, effluent plants, dock and harbor installations
- Suitable for tanks, foundations above ground or in submerged conditions
- Provides protection to surfaces exposed to tidal action
Method of Application
- Surface must be cleaned and made free from dirt, rust, grease, oil, and loose particles before application of Dr. Fixit Coal Tar Epoxy. If
necessary aggressive blasting techniques may be adopted.
- Mixing and Application - The hardener part should be poured totally into the base.
- Ensure that the surface is totally dry before applying first coat.
- The two parts must be thoroughly mixed with a low speed mixer (300-400 RPM), till the mix is homogeneous Mixing must done to get
uniform colour of the mixed material, which can be brush or spray applied on a prepared surface.
- Apply second coat after first coat is totally dry.
- Allow the final coat to cure for 7 days
Precautions & Limitations
- It is advisable to wear hand gloves and safety glasses to avoid contact with skin or eyes during application.
- Any splashes into the eyes must be immediately washed only with clean water and medical advice should be taken.
- Contact with skin can be removed with a cotton swab soaked in Acetone and subsequently washed with soap and water.
