Dr. Fixit PIDISEAL PS 41 G (Gun Grade), 42 P (Pouring Grade)
Is a two-part elastomeric sealant based on a liquid polysulfide polymer, which when mixed with
accelerator (curing agent) cures by chemical reaction to form a tough, flexible rubber seal. This sealant has excellent
adhesion to different surfaces like, masonry, concrete, timber, glass, aluminium, etc., with excellent movement
accommodation.
Features & Benefits
- Ambient temperature curing
- Forms a permanent tough elastic rubber seal
- Excellent adhesion to a wide range of building material
- Accommodates continuous and pronounced cyclic movements
- Very low shrinkage
- Good slump resistance (To be deleted)
- Resistant to sunlight (UV rays)
- Resistant to bio-degradation
- Resistant to occasional spillage of dilute acids, alkalis, petrol, aviation fuels, diesel, kerosene, lubricating oils etc.
- Non-toxic

PACKING
(Dr. Fixit Pidiseal PS is available in 2 forms)
Dr. Fixit Pidiseal PS 41G gun grade - 1 kg, 4 kg, 6.5 kg.
Dr. Fixit Pidiseal PS 42P pourable grade - 1 kg, 4 kg, 6.5 kg.
Area Of Application:
- Sealing of moving and construction joints as well as joints between different construction materials in high rise
buildings, concrete highways, bridges, water retaining structures, basements, subways, culverts, airfields, etc.
- Internal and external wall claddings
- Vertical joints in retaining walls
- Vehicular and pedestrian traffic pavements of concrete
Method of Application
- Prepare the joints as per recommended width/depth ratio. Prime only on two sides of the properly prepared joint surface
with Dr. Fixit Pidiprime A by brush.
- Use a closed cell polyethylene foam board and rod as a back up material. Fix a masking tape over the backup material
leaving exact depth of sealant fill and on both side of joint.
Mixing :
- The curing agent is to be poured in the tin with the base and mixed thoroughly with a slow speed electric mixer
(300 to 450 rpm.) for approx. 5-6 min. until a homogeneous, uniformly grey coloured material is obtained.
- Fill cartridge and fix in the gun for application. Fill the joint either with gun or spatula or pour directly into the joint,
(if pouring grade sealant Dr. Fixit Pidiseal PS 42P is being used). Tool the sealant immediately with tooling knife to
ensure 100% contact and adhesion with the surface. This will also remove any entrapped air.
- After sealing the joint the tools and equipment should be cleaned immediately with kerosene or any other cleaning
solvents
- Remove masking tape by pulling it outwardly.
- Allow sealant to cure for 7 days
Precautions & Limitations
- Maximum width for application in a joint is 50 mm
- Do not expose the sealant to high temperatures
- Sealant will not adhere to substrates with contamination and traces of bitumen
- Adhesion of the sealant must only be on two opposite faces
- Do not carry out sealing operations during hot temperature conditions.
- Use of shalitex board as a back up material should be avoided
- Pouring Grade version must only be applied in horizontal joints
- Application to be started only after 30 minutes of priming the substrate
