It is a Siliconate based injectable compound with excellent flowability and is water dilutable. It fills the pores in the masonry or DPC thus cutting capillaries and preventing rising dampness
- The area of grouting should be identified, preferably just above the skirting level from inside or at the ground level from outside.
- Using 12mm-15mm diameter drill bit, drill holes at 250mm c/c at 45degree angle in downward direction upto a depth of 2/3 the thickness of the wall.
- Insert PVC nozzles of 12-15mm diameter into the holes. Ensure that the nozzles are sufficiently inside and seal the surrounding of nozzles with Dr. Fixit Instant Leak Plug
- Dilute 1 part Dr. Fixit Dampfree with 5 parts potable water, if the rising dampness problem is not so severe. For severe problem the dilution shall be 1:3 to1:4 The decision of dilution shall be taken at the site depending upon the gravity of the problem
- Inject the diluted Dr. Fixit Dampfree with a suitable hand pump. The pressure shall be not less than 2 kg/cm2. More pressure may be required if the porosity in the wall is less or in case of any resistance. Continue grouting till the return of material is observed from the same hole or adjutant hole. After the grouting is over plug the opening of the nozzle with suitable plug to hold the pressure inside and to avoid the material coming out.
- Move to the next hole and repeat the procedure
- The entire periphery of the room under problem must be treated and not only the damp areas.
- Remove the nozzles and seal the area with Dr. Fixit Leak Plug
The areas grouted with Dampfree require at least 3 to 4 weeks to dry. The entrapped moisture will slowly evaporate making it dry. |
