wide brush.
Important Notes :
For important notes regarding laying waterbar,
please refer our Waterbar Application Manual
which also contains detailed sketches.
Shelf Life:
Can be stored indefinitely without any deterioration
in original packing which is not opened. Carton
should be stored in a cool, dry place.
Warning:
DR. Fixit WateRbaR SW2020 or NSW 2525 are
not to be used in expansion joints or moving joints.
TESTING OF WATERBAR
Two important tests prove that DR. Fixit WateRbaR is
the waterbar of choice of top structural consultants and
architects.
- DR. Fixit Waterbar is certified as safe by NSF
(National Sanitation Foundation) of USa for safe use in
potable water conditions.
- DR. Fixit Waterbar is certified as safe by CFtRi
(Central Food technological Research institute)
Area Of Application:
- DR. Fixit WateRbaR is used to seal cold construction
joints (horizontal, vertical, inclined and curved) in the
following kinds of RCC structures.
a) Water tanks, swimming pools and sump tanks
b) Water treatment plants and sewerage treatment
plants
c) basement and cellar joints
d) Joints in topmost roof slab (when concreting needs
to be stopped at the end of the day and continued
the next day)
e) tunnels and Dams
f) around puddle flanges and Pipe penetrations
g) box culverts and concrete irrigation channels
Method of Application
Horizontal Joints:
- Clean the construction joint of loose mortar and dust.
- apply primer as directed (refer section on application of primer)
- Wait for about half an hour until the primer dries a little and becomes “sticky”.
- Clean hands of dust, oil or grease. if hands are wet, please dry your hands.
- Unroll the Waterbar coil slowly and carefully on the
joint without pulling and stretching it too much.
- Remove the protective wrap.
- Pour concrete.
Vertical Joints:
- Clean the construction joint of loose mortar and dust.
- apply primer as directed (refer section on application of primer).
- Wait for about half an hour until the primer dries a little and becomes “sticky”.
- Clean hands of dust, oil or grease and dry it.
- Unroll the Waterbar coil slowly, remove protective
wrapper and carefully stick it on the joint
- if primer cannot be applied for some reason, then tie
binding wire or a string to DR. Fixit WateRbaR and hang it as shown.
- Pour concrete.

SPECIFICATION
Swellable Waterstop
- A flexible, adhesive swellable waterbar shall be
placed in the designated location in the cold
construction joint so that it prevents water from
leaking through the joint. Positioning of the waterbar
shall be closer to the possible point of entry of water
and on manufacturer’s recommendations. Concrete
shall be cast in the joint as early as possible. In case
there is standing water in the joint, the water
shall be removed. If waterbar is placed on a moist
surface, then concreting shall be carried out within
six hours of placement of waterbar. Swellable
waterstop is to be used to resist a maximum water
head of 60 mtrs. all laying instructions as specified
by manufacturer have to be followed strictly.
- The swellable waterbar shall be DR. Fixit WateRbaR
SW2020 manufactured by Pidilite, india or
equivalent. the cross section of the swellable
hydrophilic waterbar shall be minimum 20 mm x 20
mm and shall be sticky (high adhesive capacity) on
its outside surface. it should be capable of minimum
swelling of 150 percent over & above original volume.
Nonswellable (Compressible) Waterbar
- A flexible, adhesive nonswellable waterbar shall
be placed in the designated location in the cold
construction joint so that it prevents water from
leaking through the joint. Positioning of the waterbar
shall be closer to the possible point of entry of water
and on manufacturer’s recommendations. Concrete
shall be cast in the joint as early as possible.
Compressible waterstop shall be used only if the
head of water to be resisted is less than 20 mtrs. all
laying instructions as specified by manufacturer have
to be followed strictly.
- The compressible (nonswellable) waterbar shall be
DR. Fixit WateRbaR NSW 2525 of Pidilite, india or
equivalent. the cross section of the waterstop shall
be minimum 20 mm x 25 mm and shall be sticky (high
adhesive capacity) on its outside surface.
