Area of Application:

In terrace waterproofing (for small spans)

Method of Application

  • Mother slab must be sound / mechanically surface prepared / grouted for cracks
  • For repair of existing slab & re-waterproofing, the mother concrete slab must be stripped off its old treatment completely. Mechanical Methods must be adopted to prepare the surface and vacuum suck to clean off all loose particles & debris.
  • In new construction, the terrace slab must be cast to the required slope for effective drain of the rain water. In situations where drain points are provided at one end only, suitable provision must be made to drain off the water.
  • The slab must be thoroughly wetted with water to a state where it is saturated. But extra care must be taken to see that there is no stagnant or standing water. Any such water must be mopped off. As such, the concrete substrate to receive the treatment must be in a saturated surface dry condition, where the slab is thoroughly wet but dry to touch
  • Mix the both the parts of Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K with a slow speed (100 - 150 RPM) forced action mixer for big quantity of 15 kg, to achieve an even consistency. Consume the mixed material within 30 minutes at 300C.
  • All the powder lumps formed during mixing must be hand-crushed completely.
  • PLEASE DO NOT ADD WATER during mixing.
  • For large application areas, take up a quantity that can be mixed and applied in 20 - 30 minutes.
  • ALWAYS ADD the POWDER component into the LIQUID and NOT the LIQUID into the Powder
  • With a brush, apply the first coat of Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K over the prepared substrate. Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K will cover 12 - 14 sft / kg of mixed material at a thickness of 500 - 600 microns in single coat.
  • Apply a 2nd coat of Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K after 4 to 5 hrs of the 1st coat and achieve the total coating thickness of 1 mm in two coats.
  • In a demanding application such as a terrace, a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm in 3 coats must be achieved.
  • To achieve thickness of 1.5 mm to 2 mm a Polypropylene Fibre Net can be used and sandwiched in between the two coats of Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K. Consult Dr. FIXIT for this specific use
  • This treatment shall be left as it is for atleast 72 hours, during which it will, air cure.
  • Sprinkling or ponding with water is not recommended. Avoid direct sunlight during the entire application. It will be ideal if applications are taken up from the evening onwards.
  • 72 hours later, overlays as detailed below, for resistance to traffic and protection from physical damage to the 2K coating , can be overlaid.
  • * A cement-sand mortar screed at 15 - 25 mm thick.Brick Bat Coba treatment * Mud Faska * Lime Surki * Clay tiles, etc.

Precautions & Limitations

  • Must be rotected from foot traffic.
  • Do not pond with water immediately after the 2nd coat. Allow it to air cure for atleast 72 hours.
  • Pre-wetting of the substrate is essential before coating.
  • Film thickness of 1 to 1.2 mm must be achieved in 2 coats. For a critical areas 1.5 mm thick film is recommended to be achieved in 3 coats.
  • Must be applied on totally cured surface.
  • Do not undertake application in hot sun (above 300C) and below 100C.
  • Apply a neat bond coat of Dr. Fixit Pidicrete MPB over the Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K film for effective bond of the plaster.
  • Do not dilute product with water at site.
  • Part mixing is strictly prohibited.

Area of Application:

For Applications in Wet areas such as Sunken slabs / Toilets & Bathroom

Method of Application

  • Mother slab of a toilet or a sunken slab must be sound / mechanically surface prepared/ grouted for cracks
  • For repair of existing slab & re-waterproofing, the mother concrete slab must stripped off its old treatment completely. Mechanical Methods must be adopted to prepare the surface, and vacuum suck to clean off all loose particles & debris.
  • Ask Dr. FIXIT for detailed specification on waterproofing repair treatment on 'old construction'
  • The slab must be thoroughly wetted with water to a state where it is saturated. But extra care must be taken to see that there is no stagnant or standing water. Any such water must be mopped off. As such, the concrete substrate to receive the treatment must be in a Saturated Surface Dry Condition.
  • Mix the 2 different parts of Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K with a slow speed (100 - 150 RPM) forced action mixer for a big quantity of 15 kg, to achieve an even consistency. All the powder lumps formed during mixing must be hand crushed completely.
  • PLEASE DO NOT ADD WATER during mixing. Please ensure that the mixed material is consumed within 30 minutes at 300C.
