- Waterproofing of terrace, toilets, chajja, masonry walls, slopping RCC roofs, etc.
- Repairs to RCC members
- Waterproofing mortars / concretes
- In repair mortars / concretes
Method of Application
- Surface for treatments must be thoroughly cleaned of all laitance, loose material, oils, greases etc.
- Mechanical means such as wire brushing, shot blasting can be used, and finally vacuum cleaned of all loose solids and liquids
- Clean the surface thoroughly of its loose concrete, dust, etc., and prewet with water adequately.
- Mix Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP and cement in 1:1 proportion by volume and brush apply a single coat over the clean surface. Allow this coat to become tacky (15 to 20 minutes) then apply fresh concrete or mortar. If the bond coat is dried, apply 2nd coat.
- Remove all loose or cracked concrete till healthy surface is encountered. Clean reinforcement steel if exposed by mechanical means. Moisten the surface with clean water and allow excess surface water to evaporate
- Mix Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP with neat cement in 1:1. Proportion by volume. Brushes apply a single coat immediately over the
cementitious surface.
- Prepare repair mortar by adding 20% Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP in 1:3 cement mortar or as specified proportions of the mortar. Use mechanical mixer for better consistency. Apply this mortar when the bond coat is tacky at a thickness up to 15 mm. Built up the required thickness in subsequent layers of 15 mm each over the bond coat. Final layer can be finished with trowel to get smooth finish
- Prepare the surface as detailed earlier to receive the waterproofing coating. Mix Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP and cement in 1:1 proportion by volume. Apply 1st coat when the surface is in touch to dry condition and allow it to dry for 4 to 5 hours. Apply 2nd coat and allow it to air cure for at least 72 hours. Over application of mortar screed to a thickness of 15 mm must be done to protect the coating from getting damaged. Plaster over vertical surfaces shall be done when the second coat is tacky to have better bonding with the surface.
- Prior to the waterproofing coat all surfaces cracks up to 5mm should be filled with Dr. Fixit Crack-X. The cracks more than 5mm and
separation gaps must be filled with Dr. Fixit Pidicrete MPB/ URP modified mortar.
Precautions & Limitations
- Consume mixed material within 45 minutes
- Moisten the surface adequately before coating application
- Dilution of Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP is strictly not recommended.
- Do not apply coating over loose or cracked plaster surface
- Not to be used for cathodic treatments to rebar
- Do not exceed an addition of 35 % of Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP for modifying concrete / mortars
